Are you testing with a push-in tester, or a thread-in tester? The push-in is convenient, but the thread-in is more accurate.
While 80 psi is on the low side, what is more important than actual psi, is that all cylinders are close to each other in their readings. So, 110-110-107-110-112-110 is good, as well as: 85-87-84-86-83-85. It is just that the 100 range is better than the 80 range.
Compression ratios changed slightly over the years on the 230. Different manuals will give different specifications as to compression, timing, spark plug gap, point gap, valve clearance, oil recommendations, etc. I don't believe I have seen numeric recommendations for cranking compression in any of my early Power-Wagon shop manuals.
