I installed a 6BT in WWII WC-63. I used all civilian power wagon sheet metal. It was no easy job. I am running a modified NP-200 transfer case. The guys are correct, when properly re-built the case is very strong. However you must keep it cool. I have a gearlube pump that comes on when the case reaches 185 degrees and shuts off at 170. The pump circulates the gearlube through a cooler with a fan mounted on it. The four cylinder is your best bet. If you plan on towing with it use the six cylinder.
