If you can spring the extra bucks have them balance it from the pulley to the clutch, you would not believe the difference in these older engines, its good for a couple hundred rpms. Newer engines are built to much closer "cheaper" tolerances these old buggers are way-out especially at the crank. Stainless valves and hardened seats is another plus, particularly on the exhaust valves. If you decide to put in new lifters make sure you get oversize lifters and tell the machinest. There are two types of water distribution tubes available for older flatheads one is designated for trucks, has better flow for good reason. Get the Heavy-Duty pistons the few bucks more is worth it. I've heard good things about the cam and valve spring kit available from VPW, if your goin on the highway the extra rpm would be a benefit. Have fun, good luck
