Yes it is strange.I still have my ticket from the state cert. truck scales and my 64'WM300 weighed 4580lbs. without winch or bed but with winch extension and front bumper only.Could the winch with cable and pickup bed combined weigh 1000lbs.?I remember it took 2 stout young men to lift the MU-2 winch with 7/16 cable from the ground up onto the frame and almost didn't make it! I'll stick with 4600lbs. for a stripped down WM,so somewhere between 4600-5600lbs. depending on what type bed or options you have.IF someone does a restoration (complete stripdown type) try to have parts weighed if possible and pass the info along.You would think that info would be available from dodge literature.
