I would imagine the 360 will pull just fine. Last year I had a '67 crewcab W/4.88's and a 318. You could start out in 3rd. The only factor limiting speed was engine RPM (3200@ 57mph). Taller tires would have helped that out quite a bit as it had 7.50-16's. My daily driver is a '67 W200 w/4.10's and a 318ci and it does just fine and drives down the road at 65mph all day long. I'm thinking of taking the 4.89's out and putting them in a 2nd series flatfender PW along with a 318ci and NP435. The price you will pay for performance equip. for a 230 or 251 dosent pencil out to the gains you can get from a small block chrysler V8 (in my opinion). I did have a 1/2 ton WC (4.89's and 9.00-16 tires)with a 251 or 255 chrysler industrial flathead, and it did fairly well on the road also, but theres a weight factor there. The 1/2 ton WC is lighter than a 1 ton PW. As far as nostalgic value goes, It would be neat to swap in a '50's Desoto hemi. Why it was never offered as an original option is beyond me, but then again I dont understand why Dodge will not make a true full size crewcab truck today. Just my opinion.
