I went to my cousin's house last night to work on his computer. His son is in the Philippines with Navy Construction Seabees building schools. He was working on Jolo island until two American troops and a Filipino marine were killed in this HUMVEE, by a roadside bomb. Apparently Jolo has about 400 terrorists there, not a nice place.
My cousin, who retired from the Army after 34 years of service, was clearly upset. He said "now I know how MY father felt when I was in Viet Nam".
I know this probably happens everyday, and I'm guilty of not paying attention to the war as much as I should, but this made me stop and think when it hit this close to home and family.
