Do yourself and the world a big favor and run all that rod over to the scrap yard.
Then stop at the welding supplier and get a box of 1/8 6013 so you can learn how to weld. Keep the arc as short as possible.
6010 is a fast freeze rod, good rod for it's intended purpose, and that wasn't digging thru crap.
