I ran into this when I did my 318. I found, with help from this Forum, a Dodge 3 bolt starter that does not have the solenoid on it. I needed to grind the hood a bit, as seen in the picture. The white line is the amount I needed to remove. It wasnt much and it works like a charm. I could figure out the application, or maybe someone has it close to hand.
