Totally agree with you Gordon but was going on his title question for my reply. At the very least, a second set of local eyes can help weed out the blatantly misrepresented ones. That alone could save your travel expenses.
I bought my first truck via pics and video without going to see it personally. Bought from dealer and some little things were stretched shall we say. All in all it was a good experience and looking back I was pretty lucky. I would NOT do it again like that as the buyer has a lot to loose. Your basically at the mercy of the sellers honesty.
