I thing you got it. Obviously the one I saw had a different hood and etc. But the body and upper tailgate are correct. I looked all over the WEB for WWII Chevy trucks and could not find a Chevy carryall at all. Your picture I would assume is an early version which is more civilian just like the Dodge VCs. I wonder if the one I saw it a later version that was mor military in design like the Dodge WCs. The grill is rounded like the 1/2 ton WCs.
