Sweptline windshield wiper direction?

Steve Kaegi mentioned the windshield wipers on this illustration were from a later model. I drew this cab from a 66ish W300 with the wipers parallel (later). It was a restoration, so it could have different parts, but the door handles were the older pull type. I looked at some photos and saw a 66 with the opposed wipers.
My 68 W300 Crew Cab has opposed wipers. So what the hey?? A transition period?
