My old friend, Chuck Davis, has been dead for over 20 years. (natural causes, not explosion)
I learned a lot, but not enough, from him. I wish I could have preserved his memory and knowledge on a disk. What wealth he had in experience. I am now nearly as old as he was when I fist met him, but I'm a builder, not a mechanic. More than once I watched him fill a gas tank with exhaust and then weld a crack or a hole, because the carbon monoxide in the tank would prevent an explosion. I always waited around the corner of the building. :)
