I dont know long term compression of the clutch springs. However, I have a Ford Tractor. Hanging on a piece of chain is a small wedge block. The Ford Shop Manual directs that clutch is depressed and wedge inserted in linkage for long term storage. The shop manual states this keeps the disk and pressure plate separate and eliminates the disk sticking to the pressure plate. I always follow their direction, never had a stuck clutch not weak springs.
