... I just got the 1961 W500 titled. A bit of a tussle, but less than I expected. the obviously inexperienced inspector breezed over the several equipment items that might have prevented registration, but then decided that the truck was a 1967. (Hold breath, count backwards from ten....) In spite of the CA title indicating 1961, and first registration date in 1961. (Do not make a scene, do not make a scene...) Have no idea what he was looking at.
Managed to talk him out of his tree by showing him the Sweptline registry serial number decoder, at which point he moped around a bit, got told to buzz off by another inspector who didn't want to get involved, then went ahead and wrote it up... as a 1961. Score one for the Blackberry.
It's a pretty nice truck. Got the major bugs out of it at this point, very nice to drive, even without power steering. Need to tidy up the instruments, a few lights, maybe paint the cab.
