I'm almost ready to take my WDX for a trial run around the block and I need some options for where to put the battery.First, you should know that in the rush to fire up the engine I had a local muffler shop put in a dual exhaust system without giving thought to placing the battery under the cab. As a result, there's no room without re-routing the exhaust which I don't want to do (extra money and time).Heliotool suggests locating the the battery on the driver's side of the engine along the frame but this looks awkward. My mechanic wants to put the battery on the firewall(using a very compact gel cell unit). My worry is even if we can find a battery that will work, heat will be an issue(the battery will be pretty close to the passenger side exhaust manifold). So for those of you who have a 318 what are my remaing options? Is the firewall mount an issue (forgetting the heat for a moment, can I a get a small battery with enough cranking power to work)?
