A chain interaxel can do about 30 mph all day. Remember, the White halftrack of WW2 is a chain driven vehicle, and it hauls ass.
There was also an outfit that made a V belt kit for tag axels, 2 pullies that replaced the dustrings with a heavy belt. Those were funny when they got muddy, and a carear for the tire guy who got to untangle it and put a new one on.
