I have had very poor luck with Powder Coat on my Ram Buckstop Bumper, 3 different make cross bed tool boxes and misc small items. Any Powder Coat exposed to the elements in this climate has failed and peeled. I had a Marine GPS Powder Coated, its inside the truck and looks great after 3 years.
Next summer when my W300 is done, I plan to remove the front and rear bumpers from my Ram, blast them bright and shiny, then shoot PPG MP-170 Epoxy Primer and top coat with PPG MOA chassis black. That combination has never failed on my frames. Then do the cross bed tool boxes.
