I never do them running on flathead Chryslers/Dodge/ plymouth engines. I will warm up the engine after pulling the fender and inner fender off then set exhaust at .012 and intake at .010. no special wrenches required. these engines are not as finicky as some of the overhead valve engines are. less expanding parts in a flathead. and they run cool
