I bought this truck to make a usable driver out of it. I do not want to do a full restoration. Next owner can do that :) I planned to fix the dents in the cab, front fenders, etc. and paint it. Maybe do the same with the bed or maybe sell the bed and build a flat bed. As with any 60 year old truck, there are lots of unforseens. Wiring needs work, seat needs covered, already replaced bad seal in t/c, did a kit in the carburetor, straightened and painted windshield frame, replaced the glass, rebuilt the wheel and master cylinders. I am replacing the door glass and the channels. Wheels are being sandblasted and powder coated, with newer tires in the future.
Today's question: is there any way to soften the rubber on the wing vents? I would prefer not to replace them. Mine are in good shape, but hardened. I recall hearing that glycerin will work. Anyone know? Thanks. JH
