I'd buy the generator if I was going to the rally but it's too far away for me to deal with. I run my skil saw and similar tools off a 2000 watt inverter these days, but for some reason my roto-hammer doesn't like the inverter's square wave and won't run on it at all. The table saw is just too big for the inverter. I have several 5 kW generators, but the military ones are large, gas-powered, suck a lot of gas, and are hard to start, and even the Onan diesel weighs 700 lbs which isn't very portable. It would be nice to have a small 120 volt generator that would run the roto-hammer or table saw, and I like the idea of an old Signal Corps one. But somebody else will have to get yours.
