Well I disassembled the axle and it was a very easy fix the axle broke right at the flange, not the splines, pulled out the $90 axle shaft and replaced with OEM one. Is that a normal break point for a full floating axle?
Jon if I swapped modern running gear I was toying with the option of using Bruce's trick and putting the bud hubs on the dana spindles thus making a modern axle with the bud bolt pattern.
