Use a drag link socket, 1/2 inch drive. The head is usually larger than the screw slot so you can grind it down for a tight fit. I then use the socket on the end of my electric impact driver, doing the fwd and reverse direction thing until it comes out. If they are really stuck try some heat, you don't need more than a propane torch usually.
