I bought a "Irwin" (Hanson) tap and drill bit set - the 5/16"-18NC tap came with a "G" drill bit. Neither of the charts I have contain a "G" drill bit. The charts say "F" for this tap. I don't have a mic. to measure the bit I got with this set. Still confused, but used the bit that came with the tap. It was not a high stress connector so I motored on.
