I've thought about jerry-rigging something simple like a choke/throttle cable attached to lever sticking out of the side of the distributor, with the hold-down screw loosened just a little, but I think that would be too wobbly. You'd need it to stay solidly in place wherever it was set, and the hold-down screw would have to be something like a shoulder bolt that wouldn't work its way tighter or looser. Along the same lines, I've also thought it would be handy, at least on the Sno-Cat, to have a cable-controlled carburetor heat adjustment like they have on airplanes. That way I could set the heat riser manually and give it max heat for starting out, or in icing conditions (had a bad case of icing once when the heat riser was stuck), but then close it off to keep the intake cool most of the time. I guess I just like plenty of manual adjustments (and gauges) on everything. I don't like machines that try to outsmart me.
