The old edge tape dries and shrinks. So I used the same technique on the back as on the front- bit of old edge tape to hold the glass in place, until I ran a bead of urethane windshield cement around the outside.
I only wish it had occurred to me to go buy an electric caulking gun. It would have been worth it. I'm sure wobbly pumping a manual gun. Or do you think maybe it's the rummer ?
