T-case bearing pre-load

I've been rebuilding the t-case for my 46 WDX. I have the e-brake output shaft together to set the bearing pre-load. The military manuals say 15-30 in. lbs. is the goal but after numerous attempts the closest I could get was about 35~40 in. lbs.

I figure this is probably close enough, and better than being below the minimum but wanted to make sure before I bolt it to the case.
