When viewed from the rear of the truck:
1) With PTO rear output shaft turning clockwise - shaft turns 540 RPM when engine is operating at 1137 RPM. (PTO operates at 47.5% of engine speed when rotating in opposite direction of engine rotation).
2) With PTO rear output shaft turning counter clockwise - shaft turns 540 RPM when engine is operating at 878 RPM. (PTO operates at 61.5 % of engine speed when rotating in direction of engine rotation).
These trucks were designed to be stationary power plants. I doubt that 35 horse power draw would hurt anything at continuous usage day in and day out as long as your bearings are in good shape and remain well lubricated.
