8 1/4 rear end

I have a 8 1/4 rear end in my 78 power wagon, 3:55 gears. My 440 is in the shop now getting rebuilt. My question is this a good combination or should I look to change some things. It will be run off road some, more on the street. Thanks for any suggestions.
