I had a 1999 F350 Crewcab bare bones, rubber floor matt...not even A/C!
It had a 5.4 triton with manual transmission & I loved that truck.
I never spent $5 on that truck other than fuel & oil. No spark plugs, no clutch, no brakes...it worked flawless for me.
Hauled many a big load & fuel was no worse than any other comparable truck. I found the ride smooth. I think the longer wheelbase crewcab is a better riding truck than the shorter versions.
I'd buy one if the price is right.
I've said it before...diesel's have their place but if you don't haul a big trailer...you probably won't pay off the extra costs of a diesel.
