Robert,
the first thing to do of course is to re-torque the head bolts - tighting sequence is
on page 13 VPW catalog along with some very
good tips on replacement of the head gasket
will need to get a bottom tap to clean the
threads in the block.
take the cyl head to a machine shop and have
them check it for warping
if your engine has quite a few miles on it
then chances are the head has been resurfaced
before and you might end up with too high of
a compression ratio when done. If so you
will have to buy a new head (VPW) if you
have any doubts you might want to go ahead
and get a new head as it is a pain to put together and then have to take apart again
I got a new head from VPW for our 48.
