It all depends upon which of the 3 or 4 different oil filtration systems you have on your truck as to how the lines route. Some filters fed from the bottom. Some fed from the top.
I would have to go back and review the posts over the past couple of years, but here is an image of how the lines route to the Deluxe Clean Oil filter. These are the only type of filters that I have found on any of my trucks, and they were all routed the same.
BTW. That inspection cover in the bed floor of your truck "is" in the parts manuals. They changed the code starting in the 1951 manual and it threw me off. (I was just trying to pull T-roy's leg anyway).
