I use something called 999 Safety Solvent Degreaser made by State Chemical Co from Cleveland, OH.
Its water soluable. Its supposed to be mixed/diluted to be used, but I use it straight. And the results are pretty good.
A steering knuckle with 40 year old grease caked on it came clean over nite.
Works great in my el cheapo Harbor Freight parts washer. Other than it kinda foams up like dish soap when shot thru the nozzle with the pump.
