It sounds like a good sized vacuum leak. Or maybe it popped back, and blew a cap off of a extra fitting some where?
I used to have a pair of vise grips that had smooth jaws, like dull dikes. Used to pinch off rubber hose without hurting the hose.
It's a real low milage truck, I wonder if one of the steel vacuum lines rusted through from condensation without heat to cook off the water?
Or maybe the reverse? PCV/vent system is carboned up from never getting run until hot?
