I am stripping down my 230 and I noticed a smallish pipe which comes from the intake manifold just under the carb and runs to the rear of the engine block. It seems to be some type of crankcase ventilator. At the engine block end the pipe runs into what seems like a one way check valve. My question is: What exactly is this and what is it's purpose? Also should it be a solid brass pipe or should it be a steel flex hose?
