Joe;
I am running a Photovoltaic system to power my pellet stove at night after shutting down the generator. It also powers a few nice LED wall lamps, that come on when the grid fails.
I am using a 75 watt Siemens PV Aray and a Morningstar Prostar 12 controller. Depending on the season, I can set my PV aray at my Latitude, Latitude -15 degrees, Latitude + 15 degrees for maximum illumination.
The Prostar controllers control battery charge as is required and will go to a trickle when the battery is fully charged.
Even on sunless days, the large PV panel still gets enough illumination to provide a little charge.
Here is the link to the controller;
www.morningstarcorp.com click on products and go down to the Prostar Controllers.
The pictures are my PV Aray set at the summer position and my contoller.
