inline fuel pump

2 questions: first what is the best size in line fuel pump to buy for a WC 1/2 ton. Second were would be the best location to install this pump. I can't seem to get the engine mounted pump to push enough gas to run this truck under load. It idles well but when I go to move it it dies. Have cleaned the tank, lines, and military fuel filter and put a new pump on the truck.
