Screw phase angle, nobody cares beyond the utility, and if they aren't balancing out they will shift load to accomplish balance.
START WINDINGS on 3Ø motors, how many hundreds of horsepower are you starting on a single shaft?
Phase loss damage, that's a possibility, and there are cheap effective monitors that solve that problem.
Power fluctuation, thank your Congresscritter because you will be seeing those, if you can afford electrons after today's cap & trade crapola.
Now, if you want to do something of value on the system, look at individual loads and figure out how to minimize things starting together that will run DEMAND up.
