Elmer Keith (March 8, 1899 – February 12, 1984)
The Patron Saint of big bore handguns and hunting with same. Keith developed the .357 and .44 magnum if memory serves. His books and articles in gun magazines were straight forward and full of knowledge and first hand experience. When several plans to build a museum to honor Keith fell through, Cabela's dedicated a wing to him at their store in Boise. Anybody out there seen it? I haven't, but I hear it is very well done. He was also a Govt. inspector during WWII at Ogeden, so there are Springfields out there with his cartouche OKEK stamped on the stock. Don
