My mileage was only that bad when it was barely running. My Poly 318 in a TWPW/4.10s gets 13 easy and I've gotten 20 before. It will also do 90mph no problem, except stopping. 8 1/2 mpg is HiPo 440 kind of mileage. Must have 5.83s still. With those tires and OD, it's gotta be better. Sounds like a fun trip though. Gar
