Skil still makes good saws, and I think they're still made (final assembly only?) in the USA. Most of the new ones are worm drive saws, but yours was probably not. They still make the non-worm drive ones too, and those look just like the one my dad had. Maybe it it really has sentimental value you can swap the innards of a new one into your old one.
