Actually removing the glass would be better. Storing it somewhere where it will not be broken is the trick. The rear window is no big deal, it's just flat glass. Don't break the front one. You might want to go down to your favorite glass shop and see about a seal for the wind shield. Probably a universal seal with a lock strip. Just make sure you have a line on the new seal before you rip the old one out. It is probably hard and crunchy. Don't use a screwdriver to get the window out. Use a fibre stick like the glass place uses. They may give you a couple if you're nice to em. Heck for a half rack of the bevrage of his/her choice they may remove the windows for you. Good luck.
