Recently completed frame off on my 51 M-37, this included a complete professional rebuild of engine. I have put about 500 miles on it so far. Engine was timed using a timing light, and vacume guage (hooked up to intake manifold) read 17 pounds. All ignition componets are new, plugs, wires, distributer, coil, points, condenser, generator, voltage regulator, and wiring harness. Carb is NOS. Truck has been running fine up to today. Symptoms are, dies at stop lights, popping sound at exhaust when shifting between gears, dies at slower idle speeds, no loss of power, runs fine at higher rpms, runs well when accelerating. Today I tried adjusting the idle mixture and idle speed screws, did not slove problem. I have not adjusted valves since engine rebuild. Anyone have experience with this type of problem. Thanks in advance!
