I have plywood in the hole which is popriveted in all the way around (when I got it). The wood was in good shape so I used a poly urethane bedliner Product called DuraBak from Cote L in Aurora, CO. It leaves a textured non skid surface, which combined with the plywood allows you to stand on the roof. I used regular urethane seam sealer in the groove for the gasket. It has not leake a drop there but the same can not be said for the windshield.
