I have an '01 diesel and regularly tow a 19' TT and towed a 29' TT to New Orleans. That load grossed about 18,000 lbs, mine is about 11,000. I have always felt the brakes were more than adequate but others have complained about them. Might have something to do with driving style. The '00-'02 Ram diesels (4x's anyway) can bolt up the 3rd Gen front brakes which is a pretty good step up in size from what I understand. They do need 17" rims to make it work.
