I don't know what you consider "mountain dirt roads", but around here, 10 mph would be a reasonable average speed; less in the spring when you have to stop to cut logs and throw rocks out of the road. Chain saw, axe, and rock bar always ride around in the truck. Even in the summer with the road in good shape, the road down the creek from my land to the Joe takes an hour to go 10 miles. Add in fishing stops, and I'm thinking the only thing wrong with your plan is not enough time. Make it so you can stay overnight if you want and nobody will worry if you don't get there when you said you would, and it'll be an even better trip.
