At this point it doesn't matter if you or I gives him a chance or not. The first referendum on the success of Democratic control will be in 2010. For now, they HAVE a chance. In the meantime, there's nothing wrong with opinions.
As for his MAJORITY, bear in mind that if 3% of the people who voted for Obama had voted for McCain, McCain would have won (the popular vote, at least). That's hardly a landslide. Democracy isn't about 53% of the people lording it over 47%. It's about having all opinions represented in government proportionately to how many people have each opinion.
