Its always the stuff you don't see that gets you into trouble. Small stuff, brush that will snag a chain, especially at low RPM. Chain saws can be so unforgiving. The chaps did exactly what they were designed to do. I run a saw for a living, a timber thinner, and I still get surprised every now and then. I feel naked with out mine on and won't crank the saw without them on. I get my chaps nicked every now and then by throwing chains, they fly right toward the right thigh. Also DON'T forget the helmet, just as important. Thank God you had your chaps on.
