Bird Dog! Sympathies my brother! Tilton at UAL has gutted the maintenance dept. in lieu of short term financial gain for him and his cronies. Our base in SFO used to be the leader in the industry (rebuilt Shiga (the JAL DC8 that landed in the Bay) to new specs. Doubt we could even do anything but wash it off down there these days. It's sad, used to be people wanted quality when they bought someting/got it repaired. Now, cost is King. Can't afford to do it right the first time, but can always afford to do it over. What am I missing? Are they using bankruptcy to get the company right side up, or as most of the airlines down here have done, as a tool for union busting and gaining concessions, so those in charge may linr their pockets with the spoils? Chin up my friend, the rough ride is about to begin!
