PowerStream makes ready made 12-24volt converters like the ED1075-67 for about $80. the output of 75watts or 5amps is probably much higher than you need.

You probably could also use a pc board 12v to 24volt power supply like the DC50 from Automation electronics(no pricing listed) good for 2amps. Similar to what David Sherman described.
