No ARB's Available For W300 With Dana 70's??

That's weird??
I just got off the phone with them & they're telling me you can't install ARB's in the pre 1974 Dana 70's because they have a smaller offset (.500")on the ring gear, as opposed to .625" in the later dana 70's.
I would have thought with all the pre 73 GM, Ford & Dodge dana 70's out there...they'd have been available for years....no??
Anybody know different?
I guess the ring gear is so hard you couldn't machine 1/8" off the back??
